We are pleased to announce that Manager Jim Gannon will be ably assisted this season with the coaching of the first team squad by Dave Conlon, 35. Dave (pictured below) joins us with a wealth of coaching experience at non-league level and from higher up the football pyramid. We are delighted that Dave has decided to join us and look forward to a successful partnership together as the Club look to build on being back in our home town of NORTHWICH and last season's agonising play-off semi-final defeat.  You can follow Dave on his social network site Twitter, here - https://twitter.com/1DaveCon

Vics' manager Jim Gannon gives his view on appointing Dave as his assistant on and off the pitch -

I am really pleased to have Dave as part of my staff. Throughout the last 18 months I have very much managed and coached alone, which is probably unique, if not very unusual at any level. I enjoy coaching and have felt that the constant interaction with the players has helped form a stronger relationship with them as people and players. But the demands on one person solely responsible for managing and coaching have been quite high.

Those heavy demands, allied with the availability of Dave; meant that the time was opportune to add someone to assist in both the management of the players and with the coaching of the first team.

Dave has a great manner and is both well qualified and experienced to provide a great input into the development of our players and the way we want to play. I am really looking forward to working with him. From previous experience of watching his development, and tracking his progress since - I know I am getting a very good person and professional to work alongside me.

Furthermore, the players have another source of knowledge and guidance which will surely enhance their chances of developing as players. And by having two well qualified coaches we should be able to provide a much greater opportunity to widen the scope and depth of our coaching sessions to assist in the development of our team play and progress our principles of play. I am sure that the improvements to the coaching environment will only have positive effects in the playing environment as we strive to make further progress this season.

Jamie Dewsbury spoke with Dave after his appointment onto the coaching staff -
Welcome to the Club, Dave. You had a good spell coaching with Alan Lord at County, now linking up with another manager with Stockport connections; who has managed at a very high level in Jim Gannon. Looking forward to the challenge, then?

After finishing at Stockport County at the end of the season I received a few offers from different clubs but when I spoke to Jim about helping at Northwich it was a no brainer to come here. I've been fortunate enough to watch him work and discuss coaching, he also helped me in preparation for my A Licence assessment. Jim's CV and managerial experience is second to none and speaks for itself! It's an exciting opportunity to work with Jim and a club like Northwich and I'm looking forward to being involved and to hopefully build on last seaon's successful campaign.

I have watched a couple of training sessions last week and i have been impressed with the standard and attitudes of the players and want to be a part of the success the club deserves.
