We are pleased to announce that Paul Moore - latterly Manager of Colwyn Bay FC; has agreed terms to become our new Manager and previous incumbent Adam Lakeland's successor. Paul (pictured below) took of his first training session this evening (Thursday 22nd December) and his first game in charge will be the Northwich derby League match when we take on Witton Albion FC this Boxing Day 26th December; kick-off is at 15:00.
Paul’s career started as a young apprentice at Hull City, but injury cut short his professional playing career when at Portsmouth and later had spells at Gosport Borough, Widnes, Runcorn, Warrington Town and Daten.
He embarked on his managerial career at Cheshire club Datan, winning promotion twice to the Mid-Cheshire Division One, before moving to Congleton Town and then Leek Town where he helped save them from relegation in the Northern Premier League.
He later spent two years at his home town club Warrington Town before joining Ashton Athletic FC and then Clitheroe FC, where they narrowly missed out on a play-off position in the NPL Division One North.
Paul spoke with Jamie Dewsbury after being unveiled as the Vics' new Manager.
Welcome to the Vics' Paul - a quick return to the game and no time to waste; a huge challenge to keep the Club in the EvoStik League South lies in wait.
I would like to say it's great to be given the opportunity to manage a Club with such history as Northwich Victoria. It's been a very quick turn around after leaving Colwyn Bay and I totally understand the frustrations along with the issues surrounding the Club at present. I am meeting with the squad today (Thursday) and will look at where we need to bring in bodies.
I'm looking forward to the challenge and will work hard to ensure the Club stays in this division and moves in the right direction.
