Vics' were held to a 2-2 draw today by visiting Harrogate Railway Athletic. After a largely uneventful first half, the game sprung to life after the break; Malachi Farquharson headed Harrogate in front - only for sub' Abou Sanogo to blast Vics' level on 70' and a pulverising header from game-star Josh Amis on 77' put the Green and Whites into the lead. Farquharson ensured the spoils were shared as the game entered into injury time, firing in from close range. The result ensures Vics' remain in third position in the league table. Third place; and a home tie in the play-off series will be guaranteed if we can match Bamber Bridges' result next Saturday when they take on Farsley AFC at home. We play Brighouse Town AWAY. Both sides started the match at a fast pace - but with little enterprise at both ends of the pitch in attempts to open the scoring. Vics' Josh Amis collected a pass from Stuart Cook on 19' on the edge of the box but could only shoot straight at Railway keeper' Tom Goodwin's legs; whilst Iain Howard sent a low drive wide of the post on 26'. Railway' midfielder Dan Thirkell's headed effort was chalked off for a push inside the 6 yard box from Rob Youhill's cross just past the half-hour mark in the away side's first attempt on target in the game.

HALF TIME - Vics' 0-0 Harrogate Railway Athletic.

The second half opened with both sides displaying more quality in their football. Railway' midfielder Rob Youhill broke free on the right and crashed a shot against the outside of the post in the first attempt on goal after the resumption on 52', with a Malachi Farquarson flicked back-header from 6 yards out nestling into the far corner following a long throw in on 55' - as the Railwaymen took the lead. Vics' pressed in the next fifteen minute period of the game - and sub' Abou Sanogo made the pressure count when he rapped in a rising left-foot shot high into the net, 7 yards out from a tight angle following a superb Josh Amis' headed knock-down into his path on 70'. Vics' were now cock-a-hoop and seized the lead on 77'; that man Amis sent a thumping header past Railway' glove-man Goodwin at the edge of the six yard box from Mike Clarke's lofted cross by the touchline on 77'.

The last 15 minutes were frenzied with both sides sharing possession evenly but the visitors ensured a share of the spoils as the game entered into four minutes of additional time - Malachi Farquharson completed his team's and personal goal haul for the afternoon to two; steering in a low right-foot drive from close range despite heavy pressure by Mike Clarke following a lightning-quick raid on the right-hand side by Adam Baker who had supplied a long cross into the Vics' area.

Vics' M.O.M - Josh Amis. A powerful performance. A superb assist for Vics' equalising goal and a ruthless thumping header to nudge his side in front.
