Vics' No.1 goal-keeper Mason Springthorpe (pictured below) has signed on again for the Green and Whites' for the upcoming season 2016/17. Mason has penned a one-year deal which is great news for the Club and the team, with him also being a firm favourite amongst the fans. Jamie Dewsbury spoke with Mason after the sealing of his new deal at the Vics'.

Great news for the Vics' that you have decided to extend your stay with the Green and Whites', Mase.  You had a good season last time out and it was a hugely successful one overall; depsite narrowly missing out on promotion.

We had a great season last season for me personally; and for all the team together. It was just a shame we came short at that final hurdle (Play-off final defeat at Spennymoor). The F.A Cup run was a massive highlight - to get to the second round proper, and with all the replays against higher-league opposition was a top effort from everyone. The support that day in the second round tie at Northampton Town was immense, i still get goosebumps now!.  Moving on I'm pleased that I've sorted my contract out for another season after meeting with Adam Lakeland (Manager) and what he wants to achieve and do for this next coming season, I feel like I have unfinished business after not getting promotion the last campaign. That's one of the big reasons for me re-signing; I'm a winner and want to win things and I think we can do that here!. Since I signed from day one everyone from Dave Thomas to you, your-self Jamie, Brian Turner and to the lads and the loyal Vics' fans who came home and away last season, I have felt ever so welcome! So I feel personally that I need to re-pay that faith and crack on!
Finally, I'd just like to say a massive congrats and best wishes to the lads moving on. Scott Duxbury, Ryan Astles, Richie Bennett, Mike Clarke, Iain Howard, and Jordan Williams who I must say has done superb! All great lads and excellent players who deserve their moves at a higher level of football. This shows how GOOD a TEAM we had last season. Lastly I would just like to say a massive thanks for all your support the last season - it meant a hell of a lot to me.
Let's hope for a better season this time, and Up The Trickies!
